Serving Globally

Lutheran World Relief Quilts

When you make and send a Lutheran World ReliefQuilt, you are not only comforting someone you have never met, but providing an object that is useful in ways you probably never imagined. In addition to being a cozy, clean new bed cover, it can be a baby carrier which is tied around a mother’s back, a market display spread on the ground and piled with vegetables, a sack for transporting goods to market, a sunshade, a shawl, and most importantly a constant reminder that someone, far away, cares a lot.

Lutheran World Hunger

Each Lent, the congregation collects financial contributions to Lutheran World Hunger Good Gifts.

After our congregations and global companions identify local needs, we partner with them as they develop local solutions. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a long-standing, unwavering presence in nearly 90 countries. Over the past few years, we have sponsored pigs, chicken, and 2 water wells.

Lutheran Disaster Relief

In emergency times and situations, we contribute to Lutheran Disaster Response which brings God’s hope, healing and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need.

Compassion Child

For many years, Harrold Zion has provided monthly financial support, prayer and letter writing, sponsoring children living in extreme poverty. The children attend church-based child development centers where they receive life-changing opportunities that would otherwise be out of their reach, and which build on, add to and extend their school lessons. All Compassion-sponsored children develop their God-given potential and be released from the poverty that has trapped them for generations.
